Leader in lighting control, Philips Dynalite, announced three key updates to the Revolution user interface range at its recent launch event: Welcome, Home.

New Finishes

The high-gloss black and white finishes that Dynalite customers know and love will soon be complimented by two satin finishes, aluminum (silver) and a refreshed formulation of gold.

Collectively referred to as the “Satin” range, the new finish is semi-matte with a brushed metal effect. RGB backlit labelling has been retained.

Orders can be placed from September, with first orders shipping in early Q4.

Dynalite plans to release more Satin colour options over time, including but not limited to Vintage and Noir/Black.

Revolution Multi-gang Frames

Alongside the new colours, European-style Revolution panels will soon be available in new double- and triple-gang frames.

These combine modular support for buttons, displays and electrical accessories, providing a seamless appearance across a unified fascia and outer frame.

The first release will include support for the Simon V8 modules for Asia, Middle East & Africa, extending this to support a second range for Europe and the UK in the coming months.

A new brochure ‘look book’ has been released, detailing the full range of Dynalite user interfaces, including the new finishes and multi-gang frames.

As with the metalised finishes, orders can be placed from September, with first shipments being dispatched in early Q4.

Updates to Array

From the end of July, Revolution Display’s visual design language, Array, will gain a new feature, ‘Themes.’

Themes allow users to change the colour tint of the icons and tiles across the UI with a choice of Gold, Silver and Slate.

The gold and silver options work particularly well when using a Revolution Display within a metalised or multi-gang frame, matching the onscreen content with the physical button finishes.

This update will become available to all PDRD devices without the need for a firmware upgrade.

During a recent stay in 4-star resort owned by a large hotel chain, trying to control the room’s electrical services became so frustrating that I started noting every useability issue, poor design choice, and obvious cost-cutting measure that made me want to never return.
