Dynalite launches new program, “Works with Dynalite” to support quality integration to third-party building systems

Throughout the years, Dynalite has worked to offer great flexibility, embracing complimentary systems through integration.
We do this so that full space control can benefit from our beautiful user interfaces, so our sensing data such as occupancy can help to save energy across other services such as climate control, and so that the schedules we manage in our software can benefit the whole space covering not just lighting but also curtains, blinds, AV, fans and more.
To help our partners continue delivering projects with control beyond lighting, we’ve taken another step towards recognizing and verifying the performance and quality of those integrations.
We are pleased to introduce a new program called “Works with Dynalite”.
The Works with Dynalite program is a means of testing, verifying, and documenting integrations between the Dynalite system and third-party components to ensure quality, interoperability, and ease of use for installers and end-users.
During our recent launch event: Welcome, Home, Dynalite’s Head of Product, Stephen Craggs, sat down with Signify Product Architect, Sivaram Vasudevan, who has more than 14 years of experience using and troubleshooting the Dynalite system. They discussed the nature of the program and what’s involved in testing these third-party devices.
Sivaram oversees product testing in Signify’s Bangalore office. The testing lab simulates real-world project conditions such as a 60-storey office building or 500-room hotel. This sophisticated testing mimics the real-life network traffic that you would expect in large projects, ensuring the scalability of the Dynalite system is maintained with these integrations.
Third-party products that pass this extensive testing earn the right to use the “Works with Dynalite” logo, a badge that represents our endorsement that user experience will be maintained or even optimised through these products.

Our Software Product Manager, Phil Main, then caught up with three representatives from CoolAutomation, Somfy, and Chowmain, to discuss their latest products to join the program.
The co-founder of CoolAutomation, Igor Mitbarg, unveiled the CoolPlug, a one-to-one device for integration of split and multi-split air conditioning units. The device uses the temperature data from our Antumbra and Revolution user interfaces to provide temperature measurement control for the air conditioning unit. The CoolPlug works with all major air conditioning brands, including Mitsubishi, Toshiba, and Hitachi. The full interview can be viewed here. For more information on this product, visit CoolAutomation’s website.
Projects & Services Manager from Somfy, Joel Gray, joined the show to talk about the Sonesse 40 RS485 range of blind motors which come in three, six or nine newton meters with a speed of 30 revolutions per minute. Compatible with a range of roller blinds, roman blinds, projection screens, and pleated blinds, and capable of bi-directional feedback with the Dynalite system, the Sonesse range is a great option for reliable integration to fenestration systems. The full interview can be viewed here. For more information on the Sonesse range, visit Somfy’s website.
Finally, Phil caught up with Richard Mullins, the Chief Technology Officer from Chowmain Software and Apps, to talk about their driver for integration between Dynalite and Crestron Home systems. Chowmain’s drivers address a gap in the home automation industry, providing robust integration between different building control systems with reduced programming time and improved inter-system stability. The new driver feels native in Crestron Home without requiring any specialized programming in Dynalite, giving dealers full advantage of the advanced Dynalite programming their accustomed to whilst also capitalising on the features of Crestron Home. The full interview can be viewed here. The Chowmain driver is currently in beta testing and will soon be made available in Chowmain’s marketplace.
