Nobu Hotel, Madrid

The Challenge
Nobu Hotel Madrid is a five-star boutique hotel in Madrid’s historic Las Cortes district. Its 50 rooms and suites, tri-level Nobu restaurant, bar and lounge, and seventh-floor rooftop terrace each required automation and lighting control. Having partnered with Signify on two previous hotel projects, the client was looking for a control solution that could be deployed consistently across different hotel typologies. This is rarely straightforward, as hotels vary in size, layout, room configuration and lighting design, and a system that suits one property can require significant re-engineering for the next. Commissioning time was an equally important consideration. On-site commissioning is typically one of the most time-intensive stages of a hotel project, and delays can affect the project handover.
Within the hotel, each guest room required a guest room management system (GRMS), while the public areas, restaurants, rooftop and common areas required lighting control. The lighting design combined downlights, decorative luminaires and LED strips, which rely on different dimming methods, all of which needed to be managed within a
single system.
The Solution
Signify Dynalite supplied the complete automation and lighting control solution for Nobu Hotel Madrid. The project was awarded directly by the client, with commissioning carried out in collaboration with Signify’s system integration partner, ISD Ingeniería.
Dynalite Multiroom manages both the guest room automation system and lighting control across the public areas, restaurants, rooftop spaces and other common areas, bringing every space in the hotel onto a single platform. Each guestroom is equipped with a guest room management system (GRMS). Downlights and decorative luminaires are controlled through phase-cut dimming, while LED strips use PWM dimming, so the dimming method is matched to each light source. Antumbra keypads installed in every guest room give guests intuitive in-room control, while Antumbra Display panels, which combine buttons with a central LCD screen, provide scene control in the common areas. The client selected the Dynalite platform for its versatility and scalability. Its flexible system simplified the commissioning process, reduced engineering effort, and significantly reduced on-site setup and commissioning time, enabling a faster project handover.

Conclusion
Scalable control for luxury hospitality
Nobu Hotel Madrid now operates with a single system for guest room automation and lighting control across its guest rooms, restaurants, rooftop and common areas, managed through Dynalite Multiroom. The project highlights the value of a versatile, scalable control platform that can be deployed consistently across different hotel typologies. With commissioning time and engineering effort significantly reduced, the project was handed over faster.
