A Recap of Hospitality Announcements from our Q2 Launch Event, "All Work, All (dis)Play"

System Kits

We recognise the unique challenges faced by hotel projects in the economy and midscale tiers, particularly when it comes to pricing pressure.

We’ve developed two hospitality kits, enabling you to deliver a cost-effective solution that is quick to install, empowering electrical installers to create lighting control functionality quickly and easily out of the box.

Kits have intuitive user interfaces and multifunction sensors to save energy by detecting occupancy and automatically adjust the lighting without affecting usability. Kits provide reliable switching and/or dimming with 0-10 V or DALI Broadcast control, satisfying the vast majority off lighting applications.

Software Updates

With a focus on helping Multi-room Dashboard end-users such as hotel facility managers and engineering teams, we’ve launched two new features that help users easily discover, navigate and dive deep into the data that empowers them to run an efficient hotel and deliver an amazing guest experiences every day.

Watch the excerpt from our launch event below or continue reading to learn more about these new features.

Floorplans

Hospitality spaces, such as rooms, suites and public areas, now support floorplans alongside the current tile-based view. When added via System Builder using the standard floorplan tools, a new ‘map’ icon will be displayed when you navigate to the space in the Multiroom Dashboard.

When you navigate to a space which has a floor plan added, you’ll see this new icon in the top right corner. Here you can easily toggle between the familiar tile view, and the new floor plan view.  The floor plan is overlaid with clear outlines and labels to show the zoning, and icons indicating the supported services in each zone.

If you click on a zone, services can be directly controlled by authorised users via a drawer on the right of the screen. An additional overlay called ‘Lights & Devices’ for engineering and facility teams is also available.

When you switch to this, every connected device and light point is now overlayed on the space. Users can filter showing just lights, sensors, panels or multiple icons as you prefer.

Where alerts exist, device icons will clearly show them with our usual traffic light approach – amber for a warning, or red for an alert.  The right-hand drawer provides more details, including the realtime intensity of each fitting or channel, alongside the remaining lifetime in burn hours.

Another significant extension that has been added to floor plans for both this dashboard, and for Dynalite system manager, is linear LED support.

Cove lighting or LED strips can be added in System Builder, displaying this new fitting type in both System Manager and the Multiroom Dashboard.

Enhanced Climate Graphs

In many hospitality projects, Dynalite controllers directly drive fan-coil units, chilled water valves and heater elements. These most commonly operate in an auto mode, using our inbuilt algorithms to choose the optimal fan-speed, or our PID feature for modular valves.

These modes both deliver power/energy savings, while delivering and maintaining a guest’s requested setpoint. The actual output values however, have not previously been visible outside of system builder.

This release brings an enhancement to our popular climate graphs, adding new datapoints that show the fan and valve outputs alongside temperature and humidity. This is located in the renamed ‘maintenance’ tab, where DALI management has also been relocated.

Facilities teams can use this data to validate that the system is working correctly and quickly narrow down possible issues such as a stuck valve, or a filter that needs cleaning.

Data is loaded on demand from the room, where our latest DDFCUC will cache a rolling 24 hours of data for easy on-demand access via the dashboard. (Requires the latest DDFCUC Firmware). Like all our features, you can grant or restrict access using granular permissions under user profiles.

DALI Awards

We’re thrilled to share that we took home gold in the residential category at the DALI Alliance 2024/2025 DALI Awards earlier this week.

Our project, Atlantis the Royal, is one of Dubai’s most prestigious resorts. The iconic landmark is comprised of six interlinked towers overlooking the Arabian Sea and Palm Island.

We’d like to thank our Partners, BCL Dutcotennant and Techtronics for their amazing work, as well as our manufacturing and supply chain team in Sydney for supporting this impressive project!
