PALA Smart Home

The Challenge
Pala is the intended forever-home of a family of four that loves to entertain. They included many indoor and outdoor amenities in their new build, such as an AV room, pool, and firepit to enjoy with their family and friends.
The homeowner noted that if the control system was too complicated, they would be reluctant to use the home’s amenities. Therefore, a streamlined control solution would be preferred so even their children and guests could use these systems unaided.
-

Innovative
Many home systems including lighting, HVAC, AV, fenestration, home security, pool heating, and more are integrated into the Dynalite control network for a complete smart-home experience.
-

Human-centric
All of the home’s integrated systems can be controlled via a mobile application and/or an Antumbra user interface. The controls have been streamlined so that they are approachable and able to be used by all.
-

Scalable
Beyond lighting, there are many different entertainment zones in the house which can operate independently or be grouped together.
The Solution
They were engaged to provide a complete automated solution, transforming what was an empty block of land into the client’s dream smart home.
Aware that lighting control is crucial to the deployment of any smart building, Bridger Automation selected a combined Dynalite and RTI control system as the foundation of their lighting and space control.
Ingenious integrations
The Dynalite architecture was deemed suitable to weave together the lighting, shade control, ceiling fans, heated floors, air conditioning, motorised windows and louvers, fire pit, water features and pool pumps.
The Dynalite system speaks to the RTI control interface which provides a single user interface to control all building systems, no matter how tech savvy the end user is.
For example, a Dynalite relay allows users to control the firepit from their Smart Phone, tablet or an Antumbra Display user interface, which also displays the heating status on the screen.
The pool was another standout feature of the home, that was not exempt from integration into the smart home network. Bridger installed LED lighting around the entire wet edge of the pool which is controllable via the Dynalite network, along with the feature water pump, filtration pumps, chlorinator, and pool heater. The Dynalite system manages the status of these systems, helping to keep the pool at optimal conditions year-round. The pool is easily controlled via a switch board and handheld tablet.
Scalable and secure
Bridger designed the system so that each lighting and entertainment zone can operate independently or be grouped together for streamlined control. The homeowner can view and control all systems from the bespoke GUI app on their phone and tablet, as well as through RTI’s remote handheld control devices.
Security was a top concern for the client. Dynalite’s range of sensors feed into the home security network, turning on exterior spotlights when motion is detected at night.
Additionally, the occupants can enable automatic lighting scenes when away from home, so that the dwelling appears to be occupied, deterring would-be intruders.

“To bring our dream home to life, we sought a smart system that would elevate our living experience. Our favourite time is when the soft glow of evening light washes over the home, signaling the end of a busy day.”

Conclusion
Winner of the “Best Integrated Home” at the CEDIA Smart Home Awards 2025, PALA is a beautiful reminder that technically complex integrations can and should be easy for the end-user to control.
Designed properly, smart home systems can encompass a broad range of building automations that make the home more habitable and enjoyable for occupants, with none of the fuss or confusion of juggling numerous user interfaces.
